Especially on long flights where you'll likely be dealing with jet lag, bodily contortions to fit in the small seats, and less-than-satiating food items. Sometimes, you'll be listening to a mother soothe her newborn's screeching cries for half of your aerial trip. But what can you do? Luckily, more expensive seats mean more peace and quiet, tastier food, and comfier seats that you might just get some shuteye in. These are the factors one must consider for every flight, but especially for a flight from Melbourne to Dubai (which is almost 14 hours long).

    The man in this story purchased a premium economy seat for his trip. The person sitting next to him, a newlywed husband, approaches him and says he has gotten a seat upgrade, but his new wife has not. Instead of rejecting the upgrade so the husband didn't have to take a gamble on whether or not someone would give up their seat, he asks the OP to switch with his wife (who is still sitting in economy). OP decides to only offer the seat to the honeymooner only if he is willing to pay the difference between economy and premium economy. Read along to dig into some real entitlement.

They would have. had the opportunity to plead their case when the upgrade was processed, either by contacting the airline prior to the day of flying, or in person at the airport. My bet

Him trying to guilt trip you by telling you he was on his honeymoon was supposed to mean what exactly? Why were he and his wife entitled to a $1K gift from a stranger at the last minute? So their plan was to take the upgrade and try to bamboozle whoever was sitting there? They played themselves.
